HOPE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH
“The Church in the Apple Orchard”
Hope UMC is a congregation who has been worshipping in Faribault for 150 years. It began as the Evangelical United Brethren Church and then as a United Methodist Congregation when the two denominations joined together in 1968.The congregation moved in 1999 to a new bulding on the edge of Faribault, surrounded by an apple orchard. . 10 acres of the orchard are owned by Hope UMC and once apples are harvested, a good-will offering is made to the church to support local missions, including Habitat for Humanity, Salvation Army, Ruth’s House, Sarah’s House, and Believet. The honey is also marketed to sell or give away, with profit donated to local needs, such as food shelves.
In 2024, the Hope congregation, guided by our belief in an inclusive faith community where everyone is valued. reaffirmed our commitment to the United Methodist Church. Drawing inspiration from the analogy of an apple seed, we see our faith as the seed for growth, symbolizing different aspects of our community. Our doors are always open to those who wish to help us grow in our progressive mission to all.
